Basrah Journal of Surgery
The Basrah Journal of Surgery is an open-access journal indexed in the DOAJ and licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license. It has been published biannually by the University of Basrah, Iraq, since 1995. The journal transitioned to an online platform for article processing in 2020; since that time, processing has been achieved completely through online organization.
Starting from January 2023, the journal publishes its first issue from May to June and the second issue from November to December. After completing the publication requirements, articles will appear online according to their respective issues.
The editor utilizes iThenticate to check for plagiarism and to ensure the originality of the manuscripts submitted to the journal. A double-blind peer review system is also employed to assure the quality of publications.
The Basrah Journal of Surgery publishes original articles, review papers, and case reports in the field of medicine, particularly surgery. Authors are required to pay a fee of 75,000 Iraqi Dinars for publishing an accepted manuscript.
