The Editorial Board of the journal, besides the authors welcome your dedication to accept this responsibility. Basrah journal of Surgery follows rapid fair  double-blind peer-review process that ensures a good research quality of published articles. When accepting such request from the journal, the reviewer needs to complete the process within reasonable time not exceeding two weeks. Maintaining the scientific reputation of the journal depends on the impartial and fair evaluation of scientific research.

Responsibilities

When you are invited  to review a manuscript, please consider the following:

  1. Critically Review  manuscript with detailed comments about the manuscript to help authors improve their work
  2. Consider feed back of the  manuscript as necessary
  3. Provide all required information within established time limit
  4. suggest recommendations to the editor concerning the appropriateness of the manuscript for publication in the journal
  5. Declaring to the editor any potential conflicts of interest with respect the content of  the concerned manuscript
  6. Supply any possible misconduct
  7. In case you are unable to accept the invitation you can suggest alternative reviewers and should not  on any circumstances pass  the assigned manuscript to another reviewer
  8. Follow the ethical statements
  9. Ensuring that the manuscript is of high quality and original work
  10. Informing the editor if he/she finds the assigned manuscript is under consideration in any other publication to his/her knowledge
  11. Writing review report in English only
  12. Authoring a commentary for publication related to the reviewed manuscript
