Abstract In the last decade, the neuro-endoscope has been used increasingly in the surgical management of spinal diseases, both intradural and extradural. Endoscopic discectomy is increasingly performed in lumbar region. This study included 200 patients with lumbar disc pathology operated upon with both techniques: Classic and Endospine Karl Storz system technique introduced by Destandau. Based on results (Macnab modified criteria), microendoscopic discectomy should be used in properly selected patients.
